I got this off gunbroker, looked to be new or near new condition. Juding from the serial number I would guess it was made in '82. It came with a stainless or nickel coated ported barrel also. The finish is listed as "bright blue" on the box but appears to be very close to being black.

I had some Hogue exotic hardwood grips on it but they felt a bit too thin even though they went with the finish very well. The monogrip just gives me much more control of the handgun. Both of the factory barrels seemed to have a very crude forcing cone and also had a small patch of rifling missing a ways down in the barrel so I ordered a 10" pac nor 1:18" blank and made a more suitable barrel.

Congrats on scoring a very pristine wheel gun!
By the way all of the carbon gun that were oxide treated (commonly called bluing) are called blued regardless of the resultant color. So, explain about this new barrel of yours.. you made your own barrel?
Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box
in that order.

A DW revolver is possibly the simplest gun to ever make a barrel for. Order a blank, turn the OD down to the proper size (.680-.700), thread both ends and then put a radius in the breech end. THere is no pinning, fitting, etc due to the interchangeable barrel system we all know and love these guns for. Plus, being a revolver there is no chambering.

Nice job! I'm really toying around w/ the idea of getting a small Grizzly mill/lathe just so I can do my own work. The biggest holdup is my lack of machining knowledge. I may just have to go Nike- and just do it.
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....
