So ... I joined up during christmas 2019 to share my happiness over my recently aquired DW44 and DW15-2. Now, a little over 3 months into the new year I've done something I really didn't expect due to how the gunlaws in Norway works - but with a little ingeniuity, and the help of a friend I'm now the happy owner of another DW, this time a gorgeous .445 SuperMag 🙂Â
For the most part it's flawless, been fired around 200 times ( the previous owners guess ) - came with the original box, barrel tool, manual and the anticorrosive sheet thingie, along with 50 IHMSA stamped cases for just under $1000. Not a bad deal methinks 🙂
Now I just have to find reloading data for .445SM with a Vitavhoury powder that works - preferably N110

Wow, that is a really nice competition pistol. It has Zebra grips too. And the box. You got a good deal. Did it have the extra barrel? It would be nice to have. These type of pistols generally had an extra barrel in the box.Â

Yeah, I found this post ( https://www.danwessonforum.com/forum/revolvers/44-mag-barrels-and-445-super-mag-barrels/ ) so it seems the threads are the same on the barrels, but as you stated the slot for the ejector rod will be too short for the 445 ejector. Might be possible to make that slot longer in the .44 shrouds and then use them on the 445 - might end up it going all the way through the front there though. Â
I was commenting on the extra barrel tube. 44 mag tubes are the same bore and thread as 445. Good luck finding extra 445 or 357 max barrel assemblies. They don't show up frequently and lots of bidding competition. Better chance of finding a supermag with two BAs on Gunbroker, keeping the extra BA and selling the extra supermag. Or, Keep the extra supermag too.
