Cast bullets with large meplat make the best hunting bullets, IMO. 41 is plenty for pig, 414 is a no-brainer. Shoot 'em in the middle of the neck with anything and you should be good. Dropped one with a .17 Rem Fire Ball, just for giggles.
Educate us dummies!
meplat? I sort of know, maybe you can save me a google search
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Go up to a 210gn jacketed round nose and I think you'll get much better penetration. Hollow points aren't the best choice for large game, especially the tough hide on a hog, they expand too fast and won't penetrate enough to be effective.
The pic of the box is cool though, I don't have any factory ammo boxes, just brass.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....
The guys that like the large meplat bullets don't want to admit it, but they are shooting a wadcutter. The front of the bullet is cut off flat......however, they are quite effective at handgun distances.
Those are the same guys that don't like it when you call their SUV a station wagon.....
Four doors, and cargo space in the back with a rear opening door. An SUV and a station wagon are the exact same thing. Same with wadcutters and huge meplat bullets.
Now is when the guys in denial can chime in.

I like 80% (of full caliber) for my hunting bullets; Large Flat Nose (LFN).
Tony- I would say you are more correct if you used the term Semi-wadcutter, as they aren't "full bore" wadcutters. Also the nose shape is a bit different than Semi-wadcutters, but essentially the same. Oh- I drive a truck...
