I had trouble finding anything in my area that wasn't cowboy action loads. I ended up getting some starline brass and loading my own. Used the same bullets I use in my 45acp, 230gn RN. Had to get dies of course, but no big deal there. Its a fun gun to shoot. Enjoy!

I forgot to mention that I also scored a group of documents that appears to be a package sent in response to an inquiry about becoming a DW "Showcase Dealer." It appears to be from 2000, and includes a full catalog with two short histories - 1 titled "Dan Wesson: The Man and the Gun 1968-1996" and the other Titled "Dan Wesson Firearms - Current History since 1996" by Robert W. Serva, President. The current history story includes details about the move from Palmer, MA to Norwich, NY. There are also: Letter from Serva; Dealer Application form; Parts lists and diagrams for small & large frames; 2000 Dealer Price List; 2000 Retail Price List; and October 1, 1979 Retail Price List.
The catalog includes black & white photos of Pointman models as well as revolvers, grips, leather holsters, and other accessories, and also color photo of the new pistol pack and hunter pack in the blue case.
I want to get these posted on the forum for everyone to see, but I would welcome recommendations on the best way to go about it.

Nice score on the 45. And it is awesome about the documents. The best way to post the info will be to get with Jody and let him decide the method, he is dealing with family stuff right now so just hang on to it and drop him a PM sometime. In the meantime enjoy that new shooter and a great big thanks for wanting to share the history stuff with us. The gang will be anxious to see it all when it gets posted.

Good Lord man, you scored BIG time!I haven't seen a 45 PP either, that's a really cool find. I'm glad you're showing it off!
If you can scan the documents, then you could post them as pictures. If not, you could mail them to Jody, I'm sure he will return them once scanned.

You should be able to scan that in almost any format you want to and send it to Jody. He can make it into whatever format is needed, he does this computer stuff for a living. I have sent him some of the worst crap you can imagine and he makes it look good.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Went to our gun club monthly meeting tonight & found out more of the history of this gun. It did not start out as a pack from the factory. The original owner received it as a gift with one barrel in 1992 or 1993. The next year he received the case with 2 more barrel assemblies. The case came from the factory, but was only cutout for 2 barrels - 6 & 8. The 4 inch barrel slot was cut by the original owner after receiving the case.
The original owner only ever fired the 8 inch barrel a few times before he gifted it to the 2nd owner, who I purchased from, and he didn't fire it much more than the 1st owner.
I plan to shoot it a lot.

Good morning
That is one nice find ! Glad that you got it and not someone who has little appreciation for DW's.
Watched numerous 45 Colts go through the auctions and realized if I wanted one I was going to have to put one together. The DW 45 Colt is the best double action 45 Colt I have ever owned. No real worry about sane loads stressing any parts or it going out of time due to recoil. Sure enjoyed shooting mine up in ILLinois this past summer.
