I picked this gun up yesterday and I installed a temporary scope on it to test it out. I'm going to add a custom wood grip in apple jack laminate which is black and red in color. After that I'm adding a Burris 3X12 scope with the ballistic plex reticule which will make those rare 200 yard kill shots a little more possible.
The gun looks like its brand new, there's not even a turn mark on the cylinder yet. The guns internals were apparently cleaned up a bit because it reminds me more of a Freedom Arms revolver than a production revolver that's a couple decades old. Everything is very tight and smooth like a high dollar hand crafted watch. The cylinder latch is as smooth as butter unlike my stainless 445 which tends to stick.
I've got 900 rounds of 235 grain flat points coming in a week or so to test out. I've taken deer primarily with my 309 JDJ Contender pistol but this is going to be even more fun. The idea of putting the same power as the 375 winchester in a six shot revolver has me pretty intrigued. I'm eager put a lot of hours in at the range so I can learn to shoot this thing off handed at 100 yards with decent accuracy. Just under 3 months practice lies ahead

I haven't seen those sight/ring combos in a long time--what brand are those? Gun looks great.

The scope rings were manufactured by Millett at 2 decades or more ago. They stopped making them and I just go lucky and bought a 445 supermag that had that scope and ring set with it. The problem was that the rings were designed to clamp onto the vent rib of the barrel shroud instead of a base. So I removed the top portion of the ring with the sights attached and installed them on a standard weaver compatable set of new millet rings. It wasn't a perfect fit so what I'm doing right now as we speak is I'm installing two more rings totally 4 in all to make sure that the scope doesn't move.
And then like a big kid who can't wait I'm then going to put on a different scope at the end of the month after going through the trouble installing sighting the one in the picture. I need to send it into Burris so they can clean out the dirt that got inside the scope that I can't get out. It's going to be a couple of weeks before I get this thing exactly the way I want it.
