I wanted to give the .445 a nice bed and could not see paying the price for the old beat up DW pistol pack cases they are fetching these days, so I built a better machine. A Samsonite hard shell case, added some gun foam and covered it with yellow flannel for the old school DW look inside. I like this way better as it has a combo lock and heavy duty latches.

Nicely done!
If the "plastic fantastic" barrel tool is the only one you have, consider getting an EWK all steel barrel wrench. Much better quality and very unlikely to break and/or damage a barrel nut.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I've made cases for most of my DW's too, here's my 375SM...I have one for my 7445 too, but not a good current pic.
One for my D11 & W12...
One for my High Standard Sentinels (a DW brother from another mother).
I even made some for a few non-DW guns, like this Ruger Super Blackhawk for example...BTW, that's a belt buckle called "buckle-o-bullets" from a great holster maker from Alaska...
Here's one I made for my Lil' Dan, this one is an aluminium cigar case...
The outside of that case...

Yours looks great, especially for a first time!
The top foam needs to be flat to the lid, viewed from the sides...maybe an 1/8" pronounced is acceptable. Not much more.
With the bottom foam, trace around the gun with a sharpie, then with a NEW razor, cut about 1/4 to 1/2" straight down along the outline...then turn the blade horizontal and carve out everything within that outline to the same depth. Then go back & cut an extra relief under the cylinder. Lay the gun in the foam & relief cut as needed for the grip, so the gun lays flat in the foam.
Cut your fabric so there's not much going up on the backside of the foam, to push the foam upward. Basically enough to tuck down the sides of the foam on all four sides. I usually have some slack that comes around the back side & I tape maybe 4 spots to the back of the foam so the top side doesn't move.
Fabric...you kinda have to make sure your "man card dues" are paid up......then wander into a local fabric store. The yellow I found was fairly stretchy, which didn't crease much. It lays nice-n-flat. The blue I posted for both the Ruger &. the Lil' Dan look good, but there's zero stretch, hence the creases you see in the fabric.
Hope that helps.

Nice cases Charger, makes mine look kind of amateurish.
I mean it, please don't disparage what you've done, the Pac you've looks great. Mine all have a wrinkle or fold here & there, no biggie.
BTW, here's a couple more I made...the first is Pete & Repeat, my Yin/Yang pair of DW 3" FB's...
Then I made a case for my Model 44, with the last of the red stretchy fabric I used in the 1911 case...
