Well here is the new member of the family. I don’t have much of a story to tell, just happened to be in the right place at the right time. He’s now the crown jewel in my collection. The biggest question for me is WHERE’S THE AMMO??? I’m not convinced waiting in line, on-line, at Starline is realistic. Is that right? Starline? Anyway, I went to their website and saw the 360 brass is backordered. I don’t personally reload, but brass is a start unless someone out there knows of a source for the loaded rounds. The seller told me it made one trip to the range for what he called “test firing”. I can believe him. I want to thank all of you for sharing your experience, knowledge and expertise. This is a great forum centered on a great product.IMG_0036-2.jpgImage Enlarger

HOLY HUNTER PACK BATMAN!!! Right time and place is right. You do know you can shoot .357 too. I suggest some buffalo bore loads.

Definitely a fantastic find, I don't think I ever saw a 360 Hunter Pac! I think finding loaded ammo will be just as rare to locate as the gun maybe more so. I have seen brass show up on Gunbroker, I suggest grabbing any you get a chance at even if you don't reload. With all calibers of ammo selling so briskly these days I will be surprised if Starline produces any 360 brass anytime soon.

Congratulations on acquiring a very rare Dan, and in an awesome Hunter pac too!

Oh man, you sure did hit the jackpot on that one.  Welcome to the .360 club!  I was fortunate enough to score one of these beauties a while back, but the full Hunter Pack is the icing on the cake.  Considering the frequency that these come around in the market and the fact that only a few (very few) members have landed one of these guns, you may very well have the only .360 Hunter Pack in existence.  If there are others out there, I doubt very much there's any more than a handful.  Very nice score.

You are very correct about the ammo / brass...there is absolutely none out therecool.  Starline isn't going to run it - they are out of stock/back-ordered on 85% of their brass.  A run of .360 in these market conditions isn't going to happen.

I'm wondering if you could cut down 357max brass and use that to load some honest 360's.  357 Rem maximum brass is readily available.

BTW dwasgtdwon that find!

I think Jaggman cut down maximum brass to use in his 360. If I remember right though, the max brass gets thicker away from the rim and could cause loading problems or pressure issues. Not sure about that but it seems I read that somewhere.

I think you're right lonwolf93, I think that the cutdown brass has to be neck reamed a little bit.

Great find on a beautiful revolver.  As Harly said you may have one of the few if not only hunter packs in this rare caliber.  Thanks for sharing your treasure.

correct on cutting down 357SM brass. I don't remember any issues with the loads except the wood dowel thing.lol2  I used a tube cutter for water pipe, cut them long and then trimmed them to length.

Thank you for all the comments and info. I do feel very lucky to have come across this beauty. I really can’t tell what I paid but I will say it was more than the 2001 price list. There is a very interesting twist to the Pack which I can’t tell you all at this time but it seems a good time to tease you with a mystery. I will try to get permission to tell “the rest of the story” and maybe I can share that with you too. It is the cherry on top of the icing on top of a sweet cake. Now to find some ammo. I do have the test fire casing I could use as a pattern/example for fabricating some brass but really don’t want to open that. So I will get some of the Buffaloe Bore and be content with that for a while. Thanks again!

OK, so how could this get any better?  Did the gun belong to someone special/famous?  Or perhaps was it in a movie?  The suspense is killing me.laugh
