Finally, I’m back to tie up all the loose ends. I spoke to the seller of this Pack and, as I was pretty sure, he had no objection to my revealing his name. He is after all a more or less public figure. He is prominent in the CZ organization, in fact, according to the website he is Captain of the CZ shooting team, Angus Hobdell. His very fine shop is called CZ Custom and he has more shooting metals on the wall than on the chests of a dozen Russian generals. He said the Pack had sat under his desk for more than 10 years and that it just seemed like it was time to let it pass along. He was aware of my love for Dan Wesson revolvers and offered to show me his “360”. Of course I jumped at it and the rest was inevitable. Then if that is not enough, to add even more icing to the cake, he told me how he came across the Pack. “I won it” he said, and told me about the Pack being a prize in the Steel Challenge 2002 in Piru, California. He was kind enough to write this and sign the back of my Instruction Manual, as pictured. So this Pack, The Hobdell Hunter Pack, has really taken on a special meaning to me and I’m grateful for the opportunity to pass this story along to you all on the ever-so-fast Dan Wesson Forum.
