Yesterday I bought a brother for my 15-2. Hope the paperwork will be finished soon so I can get to pick him up and let him out at the range :

The 4" Barrel Assembly is my favorite on the 44.  Nice looking revolver- how long does your paperwork take?  Not many people shot the large bores when I was in Germany, how is it in the Netherlands?

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

@rwsem - paperwork will differ from time to time, it depends on the local authorities and their time... but it varies from 1, up to 8 weeks. Sometimes you are lucky and some not ;-)

The bigger calibers aren't very popular indeed. I think because the prices of the ammo. At this moment it is at least hard to find a .44er and of course a Dan Wesson in this caliber is not really common over here. Last week somebody also sold a 445 DW but we're limited in the amount of weapons/user so I can't buy him

@Charger fan - thanks a lot... it's an oldie and it looks like mi .357er but a little bigger ..

Good score!!    Glad you were able to purchase it. Shame, your guns laws are such, does that mean you can not be a collector?

For sport-shooting, the limit is 5 weapons, for hunting it's 6

It is possible to get a license for collectors but it is hard to get, there are only 200 given in the whole country. Also you have to be specialized in a category of guns (you can't buy everything you want) With the collector weapons, you're not allowed to do sport-shooting. So it's possible to own more then 5 weapons, but it's more theoretical then practical.

LOL, limiting weapons to a specific number cracks me up.

So is a complete DW pistol pac "one weapon" or 4 (or however many barrels the pac has)?  I know what my answer is, just wondering what the Netherlands' regime thinks.

That's a really nice "big" gun in a pretty compact package.

I suppose it makes sense to control what you can get either way. Only 2 collectors allowed in the entire country?  That blows..  are you folks allowed to reload ammo or is that also taboo? Sorry it is so strict. On a lighter note, not sure of your locale but thought I throw in that my wifes family came from and still there,  in Grunigen.  Sorry I am sure I just butchered the name. I am pretty sure I pronounced it correct. It is in Holland.

@Adam42 - thanks!, if I got him home I'll make some more pics and will post them here

@middlecalf - a pistol pack is one weapon but all barrels must have an ID and registered in the papers. Also a caliber change for an AR15 (Ciener .22 e.g.) or for the CZ75 (KADET) are not weapons but 'add ons' for an existing weapon. BTW 4" wheel guns are my favorite for the looks :-)

@ese927 - You're right, control what you can ! this is also what I am doing. Not 2 but 200 collectors in the entire country (approx.) Reloading ammo is allowed, there is only a restriction for the amount of powder (max 3kg, black powder counts for 2) and the amount of ammo (max. 10k) per household.

Gruningen = Groningen and this is at the Northern part of the Netherlands, I've been there a few times in my life, I live at the West near the coast of the North Sea.

Wait a minute.  Did I understand you correctly?

You can only own 5 guns, but you can keep 10,000 rounds of ammo?

Wow! That doesn't make much sense to me.

I thank you sir. Told you I was off on the spell. Someday, in a better economy I would like to bring her for a visit. Have always heard it is beautiful in your country.

10K ammo, that is a hefty amount. My old senical military mind is like wow!!! Great support for the state if they ever need ammunition..lol.  It is unusual to allow so much in munitions count and so few weapons to expend it..

Hi, yes - people find it a beautiful country because the low countries in Europe doesn't look the same as the rest of Europe/World with a lot of hills and mountains.

For the ammo I have t say that also 1 primer counts a s 1 round. So If you buy a box of 1000 primers, this will count also as 1000 rounds.

How do they keep track of what you use or store? Is there an honor system?

In the shops, there will be registered what you buy. At home you have to keep the receipts of powder you bought. For ammo itself you don't need to keep anything.
