I am new to the forum and the proud owner of a Dan Wesson 745 VH10 made in Monson. I'm a big fan of the .45 Colt cartridge, and I wanted an uncommon revolver to shoot it with. I did not want to pay the current Colt Anaconda prices, but I think this was a better choice anyway. Here it is pictured next to my S&W 625-5 SDS 5" .45 Colt for size comparison. I'll give a range report when I shoot them back to back this weekend. 😀

Welcome to the forum from PA! You got a rare one for your first Dan, congrats! I love the VH 10 ON a large frame. The 45 Colt is a hard to find platform in Dan Wesson, you DoD well. Good job with the pics on first post.

If you think you paid less than an Anaconda you got a really good deal.
Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I had a very lucky month as far as revolver purchases go. I picked up both of these beauties for less than what I was about to spend on one Anaconda in .45 Colt. I kind of still want an Anaconda, but I'm going to hold off until I luck up an a nice deal. In the meantime, I'll try to take some better pictures of this 745 soon.

The close ups indicate that the shroud is not an original Monson shroud, but rather a later Norwich shroud. Still a very nice and desirable gun to be sure. I'm guessing a previous owner had a shroud made for the gun. Like I said, still a very rare piece, congrats!
