I have a 7445 made in Monson and a Stainless Model 40 also made in Monson both serial number 036 wondering what they may be worth?  The Model 40 is an ETG and the 7445 is a IHSMA.  They both are complete with boxes and accessories they have been fired.  The 7445 has ETG brass 50 have been primered and 50 have never been primered.  I am thinking about selling them and wondering what they are worth as a pair or individually and I know it is subjective looking for an approximate value.

You're correct; everything is subjective.  ETG SNs normally gain higher prices but with the tapped frame/ shroud (assumption/ can't tell for certain) I think it brings the price down a bit.  The 445 IHMSA SN revolvers also gain a bit in price and you have some brass to help. I estimate the 740 to be fair at $1000-1200 ($1500-1660 untapped) and the 7445 $1400-1500.  Those are based on Gb auction prices- reaching the most individuals.  Local FtF sale would be fair around $200-300 less.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Thanks Ron, I appreciate your help thought since they were both serial number 036 from Monson might bring value up.  Also did not know if I should auction serparate or as a pair together.

Hi DA,

IMHO, I suggest you list separate, BUT make sure to mention that there is a " matching" serial number gun on auction also. Have the end times about 10 minutes apart. That way if a 036 serial number times two is important to a buyer, they can bid up both. If not , you will get full value for each of your guns without giving up a " bundle" discount. Nice guns !

Listing them ten minutes apart and referencing both auctions in the descriptions sounds like a good idea, thanks.

I am going to respectfully agree and disagree on this one. When was the last time you saw an ETG go for less than 2K? Agreed it's a shooter, but the truth is for a lot of us who collect, that's exactly the gun we are looking for....a collectable ETG we can actually puts some rounds down range and not hurt the value one penny! I don't see that gun bring less than that.

The IHMSA is low serial number, not messed with, and also a box complete revolver. Maybe not 2K, but possibly high teens. And I had not thought about it, but the ten minute spread on the pair, referencing the matching serial number on both listings is brilliant! I'm gonna maybe have to eat some crow on this one, but I think it is possible for the pair listed separately to push a total of 5K if you get the proper PAIR of buyers in the mix.

Possibly I am too much of an optimist??

Best of luck to you Don and all the forum members,

Scott

Thanks for your input Scott, I want them to go to a good home.  I appreciate your thoughts you are a great friend.  Also if anyone else has any input it is greatly appreciated.
