Howdy All, I've been digging the site for the past couple of days, thought I would reveal the reason why.

The 4 VH is much less common, and that is a beautiful gun.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

That's a great looking 744, thanks for showing it off.drool From the date on the receipt, it looks as though you're probably the original owner? We could use your help in the DW Registry, at the right of this screen >>

Oh, andwelcome aboard!smile

Welcome... what a way to intro!!!

Does anyone else think that grip is just waaaaaay nice, as in uncommonly nice? The whole gun is a beaut. Your a lucky fellow.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

I should have been a little more clear in my original post: I purchased this over the weekend from the original owner and the paperwork was his. I will update the Registry Db shortly.

I couldn't take just looking and fondling this anymore so I ran out to the range this morning. Needless to say, the Palmer paranoia has definitely subsided for me, as this gal ran flawlessly.

Sweet surprised  Previous owner took exceptional care of that awesome 744 !

Can't imagine it looked any better the day it was born.

Congrats and welcome

Thank you for sharing this beauty!   Was the seller an old guy?  I picked up a mint DW from an original owner had some sweet stories about it!

That is one very nice looking 4" 744.  Glad you gave it a new home that treats it like a king.  It now just needs some added BA's to compliment the 4", you know creating your own PP laugh.  The dwas is sure to bite and bite hard very soon.

The seller was a Vietnam Vet, so yes, I would say older. 🙂

In respect to complimenting the 4", I've already begun scrounging across the net looking for other stainless heavy barrels. One day... they will be mine... oh yes... they will be mine. 🙂

For some odd reason though I think a 722 would be the perfect compliment.

Very nice!  And welcome.

A 722 would be a great compliment, as would a blued 44, a 7445, etc.

You get the idea.  dwas  poke

Nice looking 744.  Nothing better than a larger frame with the VH4 installed!
