Ok, she's a looker. Now you got a barrel wrench, we need a range report. Though you may want to go here https://www.danwessonforum.com/forum/reloading/large-frame-disassembly-tutorial-pics/ first, so you can clean her up real nice, and then this might also help. https://www.danwessonforum.com/forum/reloading/large-frame-assembly-tip/

Well, Ken I actually thought the rod should pull out after the star is unscrewed. I see the spring came out. Maybe it is just caught up in the bushing. If it doesn't want to, I wouldn't force it. They bend way easier than you might think... You are on the right path tho, my friend..

I can see where you mentioned the B. N. threads. Looks like they cleaned up well. Someone over torqued the nut is my guess. likely more than once and may have never lubed it. Though, it doesn't take much. I have been using a dry lube on my sporters and it seems to work very well. I may have to try it out on my 15-2 next time.

You guys who run the large Dans correct me here where necessary, Since I do not own one yet...
You might, Ken, put some light on the rod side of the cyl. guide, then work the rod while looking into the spring hole to see if the bushing moves with the rod. Try pulling outward while trying to turn the rod in un-thread direction. Not a lot of real force, tho.

I'll give it a go.

I do not know if there is a recommended in/lb.. anybody??? I usually, once I have my gap, open the cylinder and put pressure with my finger against the forcing cone, then tighten the nut. I would guess, that I am applying 25 in/lb ???
I mean I tighten it down really good. Now I will say, the wrench you have now, will probably put on some torque.

Yeah Mate you might be right, It was real hard to take off and dry. The nut is a throw away but the threads cleaned up real nice. When I get the new Barrel Nut I will use some dry lube myself. What is the recommended Torque for the barrel nut.
I use just a dab of silver Permatex anti-seize (applied with a Q-tip) on both the barrel threads, and the barrel nut. It's the same stuff you would use on exhaust manifold bolts, and tire lug nuts. Just a bit of added insurance, so I'll definitely be able to remove the barrel nut later.
I've dealt with a stuck barrel nut before, and it's not fun.
Now I do the Anti-Seize thing on both the 714 and the 7445 Supermag. Can't complain with the results, as I have not had a sticky barrel nut since.

For what it is worth, I clean my barrel nut threads, barrel threads and frame threads with gun oil or Dextrose and a brass brush. Flitz works too. Or both. After wiping clean I very lightly oil the threads and and screw the barrel into the frame as far as it can go while the cylinder is open. This cleans out all the threads. Back the barrel out until you can close the cylinder.and set the gap. Prior to that I do the same with the barrel nut. Then when you put on the nut all the threads are clean. Firm is enough when tightening. I have never had a barrel loosen.

I couldn't get the ejector rod out ,The bushing turned with the rod. I have put the Revolver back together except for the barrel and shroud, Cecil is sending me a couple of barrel nuts ( Thanks Mate ) and once they arrive I'll lube the threads and nut, put it together and take it out for a shot.
Thanks everyone for the info and help.
