Hi, I'm a new guy and I violated the cardinal rule about posting pics embarassed laugh so here it goes. This is my .44 DW I bought. It came with a 6" barrel and the Hogue grips on it. The barrel nut was frozen on it and after looking around here for ideas I finally got it off but messed up the threads on both ends of the barrel in the process. That is why the barrel isn't in the photo. It's not too bad but no one around here has anything to clean them up because they are so fine. Anyway, the barrel was ported and I guess the previous owner didn't clean like he should have. The shroud is OK except for some bluing wear and I have sent an e-mail to EWK to see if I can get a replacement barrel. I have since bought a 4" barrel/shroud for it and it works just fine. I would rate the original pistol at good to very good condition. Some bluing wear, small scratches but nothing mechanically wrong at all. Overall I'm very happy with it, Lonnie.

That's a bummer about the stuck barrel, but I'm glad you were able to get it apart. Keep an eye open on GB, there are often 6" barrels that pop up on there. You can also buy one directly from DW, still.

Thanks for sharing yourcool-pics

Nice buy--the 44 mag with the 4" heavy installed is always a sharp looking combo.

6" barrel should be an easy find if you are looking.

As CF stated you can order new barrels directly from DW in Norwich.  There contact info is listed in the sidebar under the link titled: Where can I order parts?

The large frame guns with the VH4 installed is my favorite combination hope you enjoy it!  Thanks for sharing the pics.

Welcome to DWF. Send some pics to Eric [EWK] of the thread damage. He may be able re-chase them. He has one of my barrels now rechasing the thread on top of the barrel and doing a re-crown.  Mine wasn't to bad though. Eric can work wonders.
