Bought my very first large frame revolver, a 41-8VH. I asked Ole Dog about the underlug not being even and he explained; "In order to make the 4 pound weight limit for IHMSA the shroud was lightened on the 8"VH. The ten was over the limit and was used in a different class. When they made Supermags with the lengthened frame and cylinder they started to slot the shrouds". Interesting stuff.

Interestingly, the 41 is the heaviest large frame and the 40 is the heaviest SuperMag, so energy absorption should be at maximum.
I am guessing this because is they are the same frame, shroud and cylinder as the larger calibers but with less metal removed when compared to the larger calibers. This is also true of the Ruger Redhawks. The .357 is the heaviest because everything is the same except the bore of the barrel and the chambers.
Sweet 41 Mag...I was watching that one and would like to own a Blued DW 41 someday. Have you shot it yet?

Correct. Same everything with less metal removed. I have not even received it yet, sent personal check because I was not in a hurry. Working on a deal for some .41 Mag ammo.
