That number is very close to one Shoot has in the Registry (1212) with the same barrel wrapper date. I'll get that in for the next update, thanks.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Blacktop,
That is one fine SM! Some vintage Remington ammo to go along. The new wheelgun shines up real nice and seems to not show any Barney at all. You should find this to be one of the most enjoyable shooting caliber / gun combos you'll ever fire. Thanks for sharing

Man, that is one good looking SuperMag!
That cool looking stainless barrel showing though the blued shroud slots is one of the sexiest things DW has ever done with a revolver...and you just may agree at this point.
BTW, those are some good lookin' shots with the leather jacket.

Blacktop:
Since the 357SM's came with a spare barrel, that barrel wrapper may, indeed, be an accurate representation of the production date. However, this is not always true. I bought my 744 in 1985. The barrel was not ported, so in 1986 I added a ported barrel. The wrapper on the new barrel was dated 1979. Maybe your gun is newer than you may think.

I've used a bunch of Reed's 180gr XTP's & like 'em just fine.
I wanted to try some non-hollow points for better penetration on some steel tanks, so a couple weeks ago I reloaded my first batch, using 180gr Speer TMJ bullets with IMR4227. They look pretty good so far...gonna go test them out this weekend hopefully, to see if I did them right.
