I was poking around a few of my favorite rural gun shops today. I was a bit surprised to find an old DW revolver in the case. I looked it over through the glass, then walked on by.
I knew I was kidding myself because I had always been fond of DW revolvers, but never owned one.
So after having the shop owner retrieve it for me, I asked him what he knew about the gun. It was a gun he purchased from the window of a long time customer of his. That was the original owner that bought the gun new.
The paperwork indicated that it was a 1981 model 44. It had a 10 inch barrel. Also had a 6 inch barrel with it. It obviously had seen some use, but not much. The serial number is 010199... from Monson. I'll try to post a picture of it.
It's a nice one and I'm looking forward to learning more about this and spending some range time with it. I've always loved 44s so this will be fun.

This thread has a lot of good general information about DW's and is a great place to start your knowledge base.

You won't need to break it open very often, but this thread will show you how to disassemble the large frame.

... and this thread has a reassembly hint.
