Nice! You got your unfluted cylinder! Can I have the box of Dan Wesson ammo? LOL Texas seems like a good place to find Dan Wessons!

You should not use 158 grain cartridges. 180 grain or above. 170 is probably okay. A steady diet of 158 or smaller will cause mor flame etching of the top strap and erosion of the forcing cone. That is why Model 40/740s came with a extra barrel.

I use 148 grain bullets fairly regularly.  This with rather moderate loads.  Light bullets start to get problematic with full house loads, especially with ball powders.  The erosion problem came about with massive loads of ball powder behind light bullets while trying to achieve velocity at the expense of all else, something the 357 SuperMag was never intended to do.

Nice score!

Love those old school prices.

Keep your BC gap as tight as possible to reduce flame cutting with the lighter bullets.

Good advice Scorpio.

Trying to unload 500 rounds of Remington Factory 357 Max, 158gr.   Already replaced with 180gr.   If anyone interested a deal can be had in comparison to GB pricing.
