Man that is a beauty, what a shine. Interesting comp barrel with only 2 cuts in the shroud. My comp barrels all have 3 cuts, even the one on my 15-2.  Any idea as to why?

Not a clue why, but the recoil is like a .38 Special semi-wadcutter load. And that is with full-power .41 Mag loads.

I'm not sure why there's only two used on these. So far however, they seem to have only used the two cutouts on the Fixed Barrel guns, making them easy to spot for those who count cutouts while surfing the online ads.

Beautiful!  I have a .44 Mag set up exactly like it, fixed barrel as well.  Yours is the only other fixed barrel, comped, unfluted hunter set up I've ever seen.  I can't tell from the pic but is the frame milled for a rear sight or not?  Mine is not.

Gorgeous!!! Remember, all things are possible with Dans. The full heavy Lug shrouds with a slant on the muzzle are also supposedly only on fixed barrel guns but I have a 3" stainless BA that was never installed. I was hoping to find a 5" and 7" to make an odd size pack but I have only a 6" in the same configuration. Both work with a DW soft case though.ÂÂ

I'll bet our guns are from the same run.  I spoke with Randy Gates about it and he seemed to think this configuration was not very common, maybe less than 100 guns.
