I was able to get rid of the pitting on the 744 that I picked up and I also purchased a new, 6" barrel assembly from the CZ-USA store along with tools & a green fiber optic sight from Eric at EWK. I really like the look of the 6" full lug barrel and plan on getting it out to the range this weekend. I also got some Hogue monogrips, which aren't pretty, but they are effective. I will eventually get some grips from LB Custom, but for now, I like these better than the Pachmayr grips that came with it.

Very nice looking gun.
Did you use the factory grip screw? I picked up one of those grips on the cheap and it did not come with a screw assembly. Seems the instructions and screw assembly may be needed on some guns but not on the DW?? I bought it as a backup for the factory combat grips; I like the factory a lot, but chipped mine and wanted to be sure I had a complete gun in case my grip starts to crack at the chip.
Please let us know how you like that front sight. I thought the factory yellow ones would be just the thing in case Mr. Grizz stepped out of the shadows and tried to bite me. The flare off that yellow sight in the sunlight made a sight picture impossible.

The Hogue grip came with a replacement grip screw that worked perfectly.
As far as the front sight, it's from EWK and I have a factory red front fiber optic that I put on one of my 15-2's and I simply wanted to try the green/yellow (whatever color it is). If I don't like it, they're extremely easy to swap. To remove the green, clip it with wire cutters, melt one end of a fiber optic rod so it has a slight mushroom shape, put it through the holes on the sight, cut it slightly long, & melt the other end to secure it. I think I'll like it, however, since I had a Ruger GP100 Match Champion with the green fiber optic front sight & I loved that one. I ended up selling that revolver to my son and he loves that sight as well.
