I have owned a gun store for the last 4 years and am now out of brick and mortar for the last 3.  During that time I was able to get all I wanted to own and thought I was done with buying. Yeah I know everyone says that, but I was until I learned about the 740 and 40.  Now I'm scouring everywhere looking for one.  If you have one that you want to go to a good home, will get shot regularly and cleaned often, I'm your guy.  I'm not interested in reselling and load all my own ammo.  I have no safe queens and cherish and practice each of my 2A tools.  I'm willing to pay above market for the right gun and still pay well for less than the right gun.  In order of preference DW 740 6" with slots, w/o slots, 8", 4", lastly any model 40 but will need to invest in getting it silver and 6".

There is a nice one available with LOTS of extras out there.   Seller has is on Guns International for $4500, but he really wants $3500.

https://www.gunsinternational.com/guns-for-sale-online/revolvers/dan-wesson-revolvers/dan-wesson-357-super-maximum.cfm?gun_id=101843770

I did the math on the extras, and the price is a fair price considering factory prices for the extra barrels, etc;

I committed to purchase it in January, but 2 major car repairs, and a burst hot water heater has wiped me out of cash-on-hand for the next few months.   I feel bad for not being able to keep my commitment as he held it for me for over a month, so i would like to see it stay in the DWF family.

Search Gunbroker’s completed auctions, there is a Model 40 that did not sell.  You could contact the seller to see if still has it.  Ask was $1895.
