Looking for suggestions on a reasonably priced red dot type site that will handle 44 mag recoil. I'm using a Millet model on a S&W 41 that works well, and meets price requirements, but have no idea if it would hold up on top of a magnum revolver. The mount I'll be using is a clamp on that uses Weaver type rings.
Thanks.

Hi Ed
I don't have one on my 44 but have read a number of articles about the UltraDot. Just read an article of a handgun hunter who uses one on his 475 Linebaugh and it has never failed him and he has been using it for over 5 years. Also, it should fit your rings. They come in 1 inch and 30 mm tubes. They have a great website with all the info I think you will need. Good luck with your search.

Thanks Crad, I looked at the website for Untradot. One looks very similar to the Millett I mentioned, but with a better lifetime warranty. Millett's advertising claims they'll hold up to magnum calibers……….guess I'll find out when I find some brass to load. Have plenty of 44 Special until then…..
Photo, I'll post a photo when I receive and get the red dot mounted. The mount is the same as sold by Redfield some years ago. My photo skills are much below most of you on this forum.

No problamo, just ship everything you won to me and I'll photograph them and have it all back to you in a few years.

You shouldn't have any problems with a modern Millet, my 744 8VH wore a Tasco Pro Point 2 for most of the time it was shot and it held up fine. It was put on about twenty years ago and the newer version red dots are much better quality. I wouldn't mind trying out a Burris Fastfire myself.
