Very nice kit you got there.   You should enjoy getting to shoot it!

Houston huh?

I have been emailing a Houston guy off Armslist.com on a 357SM.  He wouldn't ship, so I had to move on.  Where did you discover this?

Prescut, yes it was  Armslist. He still has the two SS revolvers available as of yesterday. I wish I had known I could have picked them up for you. ""Bubba"" the man in question was not there but his son was and seemed a nice boy. "Bubba" inherited some from his father and been buying for years, his wife recently found his stash at his shop and is making him sell "Her" half. Sad.

Now get yourself some brass or ammo and get cracking.

I was "fondling" uh- looking at my new SM last night and noticed a small orange round label on the bottom of the grip with someones initials and a 5/27 date on it, anyone know the significance of this? Factory build date---- quality control?

It could be a gun inspection sticker from a silhouette match. At championship matches, guns had to be weighed and checked prior to shooting for score. Once they passed the tech inspection, a small sticker was attached somewhere on the gun. This had to be shown to the line officer before you could shoot your match. Some folks just leave them on the gun.

Nice Model 40!

Thank you IHMSA80x80, did you shoot during the early 1980's?
