Ad in local trader paper for this puppy, saw it, was listed yesterday, called about it this morning, and went and got it this afternoon! I'm Sooooo excited! Got it from the original owner, he said he bought it to go boar hunting in Tennessee, ran maybe two boxes of ammo through it and that was it. Here's the pics from the ad, they don't do it justice...among other things you can't tell the yellow plastic insert in on the back of the cylinder!

Nice find.  I would have bought it in a heartbeat.  I love the .41 caliber.  Just wish more bullets were made for it.

Eric,

Great find and what a package too!  Just about all you need to get started except primers.  Super find on a super caliber.

Thanks guys!

When the guy called me back first thing I said, do you still have it for sale? He sounded a little incredulous and responded "I just put up the ad yesterday!" Oh well, I must be a little gun shy from deals where you call right away and its "Sorry sold that a couple minutes ago!"

Mox, Its one of those things where you don't hit everything (see above) but sometimes one gets blessed with a super deal! Oh yeah on the 15"! Laugh

DWA, there is another deal brewing on a .357 mag, not sure what it is yet, I would say most likely a 15 but maybe its a porkchop!

.41 is a new animal to me, don't know much about the caliber, but that is good to hear the postive comments on it! Need to get the reloading setup going. Laugh

Eric, It is very kool that you got the complete "kit" of gear with the revolver.  I noticed someone mentioned that 41 cal bullets are few in variety.  What bullet are you planning on using?

That's fantastic!  Got 3 myself and absolutely enjoy them all.  More efficient than a .44 w/ less recoil and flatter trajectory.  Great hunting rig IMO.

Very nice catch on a real beauty!!! And is it wearing a Pachmayr grip with DW medallions? I don't think I ever saw that before.

Yes Lonewolf, the Pachmayrs have the DW medallions on both sides, that's pretty neat that you haven't seen one before, it might of been something that was done custom...

You guys are really stiring me up to go shoot it, with all this .41 mag talk, can't wait to see what its like! Laugh

The Pachmayr's were offered with the DW medallions during the Palmer era and possible even late Monson.  I have a brochure that shows both the Pachmayr Presentation Grip and Gripper with medallion from Palmer.

Interesting Jody, I would say the .41 is one of the last ones made at Monson, the guy thought he bought it around 1991, but most of the boxes of ammo are marked 1986, and the gun is a Monson.
