.....again! This is becoming a recurring theme with me.......
Anyway, after 2 quick DW 1911 acquisitions, I was NOT on the look out for a new (to me Dan). So, this guy I work with (who owns a sweet chrome plated 14-2 by way of my brother SteveCT and is an inactive member here) calls from his office to mine... "hey Bruce, did you look at the hunting forum? There's one of those big a** Dan Wessons in stainless that you like so much".
So, of course I take a look and it's a 7445.
So, I reach out to the 2 guys I can rely on to help me spend my money, SteveCT and rwsem for advice. (they did not council restraint)
So, I contact the guy.
So, he drives 100 miles to show me that bad boy.
So, I meet him about 1/8th mile from office and look at it and find it's a Monson 7445 with an IHMSA serial # .
So, yeah you already know, I bought it. (I'm almost.....ALMOST...ashamed of what I paid)
It's got a couple of rough spots and the shroud is slightly deformed from the scope mount, but for an any pistol, especially an IHMSA, it's hardly been fired! I promise to post a better pic.

Don't be ashamed; I wish I could have helped you spend more. It was a very nice deal, indeed. I'll get the cases out to you Monday or so. BTW, mine is IHMSA 109.
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Thanks Ron. Mine is IHMSA 132. Any idea about date of manufacture and/or how many IHMSA models were made?
I was really pleased to obtain it, as pictured (no case), for $625.00!

Great deal on that one Bruce! I bet the gentleman was happy to be rid of it, being so big and heavy and chambered for a cartridge you cant find bullets for and all

Thanks Brian. I'm rather proud of the deal.
You know, sometimes when you buy from a private individual, it can be kind of sad. Young man's Grandpa had passed and he and his brothers and father were cleaning out his safe. Based on the listing, Grandpa was a big collector with varied tastes. Wish I had more funds! They didn't know anything about the 7445, so I was happy to take it off their hands.

Looks like you got a nice one there! The VH8S shrouds on the .445's has always been my favorite configuration. Have fun with it!

The Big Dog (7445) and his not as Big Dog (741) brother have new travel accommodations. A nice waterproof high impact "Pelican" type case.

The first trip to the range with my son's 445 SM (actually, it was technically mine at that point in time) where it lost it's unfired/NIB status, it drew a crowd of about a dozen guys who wanted to see the source of all the noise
