My Gunsmith buddy Dave is also a licensed FFL… And yesterday he had me over at his house where I was dropping off some parts for a JC Higgins model 50 rifle build, when he showed me a gun that had come in for another client.
It was an Internet sale, and the guy was trying to buy a Dan Wesson 357 magnum with a 10” barrel...sure enough some of the paperwork that came with the gun was marked 357 magnum, and then on one spot the paperwork was marked 357 maximum, but the gun itself was a super clean near mint condition 375 super mag! Also included the original Styrofoam box serial numbered to the gun, As well as an original barrel wrench (yellow-clear) in super clean near-new condition, the paper work, the anti-corrosion slip, the only thing not correct was that it had a .006 shim in the box. $1200....
The poor guy was so confused that he initially told Dave to send it back! After FedEx took the box and started it on its way back, the guy had done some research and frantically called Dave to get the box headed back to him again because he decided to keep it… FedEx turned the box around and the guy is now a proud Super Mag owner and hopefully future member of this forum and it’s a really cool story!

LOL,
I am the proud owner of this Super Mag. I am a new member to this forum and I do reload. I've got bullets, brass and dies comming as well as a box of Taylor mades so I can shoot it.
Jonny didn't tell the rest of the story. He tried to horse-trade me out of the gun before I had even signed the paperwork for it! Lol!
Looking forward to this new adventure

I confess I did make an effort to see if he’d turn loose of it for a 357 PP...Bob was nice about it and I don’t blame him one bit for keeping his fabulous SM!! I would not have traded either....
