Saw these on a large frame Blued 44 Mag DW browsing Gunbroker this AM.
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=444832354
They're described as Yellow Pachmayr Presentation grips.
From the GB add description:
The grips are vintage Pachmayr Presentation Yellow; they may look white in the pictures.
Something else I have never seen before.
Just when you think you have seen it all, something like this pops up.

That is a very nice early, short trigger spur 44. The grip looks like it might have been colored or cerakoted. The checkering looks like the black is trying to show through. Simply enough to put on some appropriate smooth wood grips.Maybe I will try a color on a spare set of presentations. Bronze? Tiffany blue? Silver? Ebay here I come.

I'd like to have it just to say I have it. Maybe it would look better on a white gun... It definitely gives that, what appears to be fairly new Black, pistol a different appeal...

Hard to say, except the seller said yellow. In some photos the frame/cyl looks more polished than the barrel, in others, the opposite. His description of part glossy blue with matte on some areas is hard to follow. I've noticed that digital photos on the internet many times make articles look better than they are, unless a close up in good focus. Nothing to do with this item, just things I've had for sale a few times when I knew how the item really looked.

Hello all, I use to carry a Palmer SS fixed barrel 357 DW back in the Philippines as my duty weapon. Sadly I sold it to pay for my sons's hospital bills. I really miss that DW revolver even thoughit was a fixed barreled one.
Fast forward 12 years later, I was looking for a Monson 744 but could'nt find one so I settled for the DW Mod 44 with the yellow Pachmayr grips I found in Gunbroker.
I actually ended up buying 2 DW 44 magnums. the yellow gripped one off Gunbroker and a Palmer 744 off Gunsamerica.
Did I do good? the Palmer one has a different hammer profile and is much slicker both in DA and SA.

2 new Dan Wessons, looks like you did good to me! The blued one is an early 44, with the shorter hammer. I think they only made that short hammer a couple years. I believe they went to the longer curved hammer to work better under a mounted scope. As far as the yellow Pachmayrs, (probably white once?) I think they look alright, and they are definitely the only Pachmayrs I have ever seen that were not black.

Thank you Gentlemen.
I actually got a little crazy and also bought a couple of DW 357s one fixed and one adjustable sight but because of NJ's one gun a month policy, I can only get 1 gun per month from my dealer.
So my Palmer 744 and my Mod 15 and 14 are still in my dealer's safe. Oh well. These things are so addictive! kinda like AR 15s. I promised myself that's it. 4 DWs is my limit. But if I come across an affordable 745 I might fall off the wagon..
Sigh..

Is it legal to transport the guns from the FFL to your home in NJ? I have heard some horrible stories from friends of mine in NJ about the draconian gun laws you have there.

Jim, two chances of stopping buying dans, slim and none. If you can figure out how to collect dans in N.J. then you have a very severe case of DWAS. Most people leave New Jersey as soon as they can. They go to Florida. All the guns you want when you want them. Florida falls all over itself to give you a conceal carry permit. With a permit you walk right out with it, or them. I grew up in Point Pleasant Bch. They ticket you for spitting on the sidewalk there. If George Washington had not routed the Hessians at Trenton , New Jersey would have stayed British. Ah, just teasing yah. Glad your on the forum. Show us the other dans when you get them.
