Today I have bought my 1st Dan Wesson. Me & the wife decided to go to this Pawn Shop that open up in my town today just to see what they have since they post of been more focus on the upscale items & firearms. I have people around one end of the case & talking about an FN 5.7 so I figure I would look on the other side since the wife was looking the some LV purses and other stuff. I was hoping to find an pre 1964 Winchester Model 94. I looked at some Glocks & Beretta but nothing that caught my eye really since they was average price and nothing really interest me. So once the area cleared up the wife showed up and we looked to see what all had on that end since I was not interested in the other items. Walked over there and saw some Mac10 & FN pistols and on the very top I looked and seen a Brown case. I looked for a second & an guy come over & I asked to let me see the Dan Wesson. He was kind of shocked I knew what was in it (I am a younger guy). I opened it up expecting 1 of 2 items. 1) It would be over priced or 2) have only 1 or 2 barrels. Well everything was there besides the Owners Manual. Well I was looking at it and thinking. Before I said anything the wife told me to go ahead and get it. Well I asked price. It was $850. Before I said anything the wife said to get it. So I did what they wife said. Is this a good deal. I thought it was. I seen a few online for about 1200-1300. I have a few questions.
1) Is this a good deal.
2) In the picture, there is a piece I am not sure what it is. It is between the speed loader & the wrench. It is a cone shape. What is this piece.
3) Did they make an 10" or 12" Barrel for these revolvers? I am wanting to try and get some items for it.
All in all I am one happy shopper today.

At $850 you did so good that you need to go to Church tomorrow and give thanks!
That little part is not something I recognize readily as part of a DW, maybe it goes with the speed loader?
For this to be a Factory Original Pack, there was probably a DW belt buckle in that space where the speedloader resides.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

BTW, 10 and 12 inch barrels are available, pretty pricey items. Make sure you must have one before you buy, it makes for a pretty heavy gun to shoot.

Kenneth Hawks welcome to DWF.
I'm thinking that cone shaped piece you have there is a guide bushing for a gun cleaning kit. I have a Hoppes kit that has one just like it in the kit. It keeps the cleaning rod from dragging on the end of the barrel when you push- pull the rod thru the barrel.
BTW nice find on the PAC....good deal IMHO.will now kick in!!!

Here are some more photos of the Pistol. The wife isn't into guns much but she has seen what they been going for and know what I like. I guess I will buy her something for the house when we move next week. Just wished I could date this.
What is the Serial Number? I can get you the year, no problem, leave the last two digits off if you have a concern with posting the complete S/N.
Just from what I see in your photos, I'm guessing 1977-79

Yours is early enough to have the overtravel adjustment integral to the trigger, rather than being in the frame behind the trigger. Probably/possibly has the cylinder machined for recessed chambers for the cartridge rim as well?
A really beautiful gun and Pack, congrats.
