Did a bit of trading with a guy I know and he showed me these 3 Dans and I had to get them all.

The first one does seem to have a good deal of pitting and discoloration on it, but I love those grips! Can anyone tell me what they are called or if they have a special name?

The next 2 have pretty glossy finishes, one has a little pitting on it and the other looks darn near spotless and the one came with an extra barrel and a wrench.

I traded 4 guns for these 3, all told I had about $950 into those 4 guns. I think I did well! Not really positive but these seem pretty run of the mill Dans unless I'm missing something.

So you are $315 (or so) in on these three? YOU DONE GOOD!

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Yep $315 a pop I figured was more than fair. Even the one with pitting isn't that bad.
I was concerned what the inside may have looked like...so I opened up all 3 and...

I think you did well! Especially with the extra 4" barrel assembly, I do not often see the heavy underlug with out a vented rib.

I have not seen a grip like that first one, I would guess that somebody reshaped it from a factory grip, one of the old fatter ones. It looks like nice work.

I was wondering about the grip. It is nicely done for sure, I love it.

If it was mine I'd drop the grip off and look for the LB brand inside...it reminds me of his craftsmanship.

I took it off once. What am I looking for exactly?

A fellow forum member is nationally known for making custom grips for Dan Wessons.

You can find a link to his stuff over there on the side =========>>

Anyway, the shape of this grip reminds me of his thumb rest grip. If he made it it should have the initials LB branded into the wood on the hidden portion of the grip.

Notorious maybe, National known, I doubt it. LOL.

Nice looking grip though. I don't think that was one of mine.

At that price you did well!
