So I have seen some Dan Wessons with gold letters & numbers. I thought they may be a special edition gun but after a few You Tube videos I figured out how it's done. I think it looks good but I also could see Dan guys not liking it since its changing the original gun. Well I did it to my 15-2HV Pistol Pac! Then another question? Why did Dan Wesson put the gun and barrels in the pistol pac with serial numbers and other lettering face down? Got on Amazon and ordered new felt and foam. A few days later after cutting some new foam so the gun and barrels face right and my gold inlay and here is the result! Thoughts!

Many thought and "humble opinions" coming.

For display facing Left shows the crane latch which is a DW innovation.

As far as Gold. I have found that if you shoot and clean often it comes off.

Just MHO.

Since it is not permanent I think it is like putting a hat on to go outside. If you like it, do it. If you are inside you can take it off.

Yeah, cleaning a gun removes it.

I don't plan on shooting this one it's too pretty! LOL I have others I can shoot. There is one process that supposedly is close to permanent I have not tried it yet called Bonanza gold by foster products. It's harder to use but I'm going to give it a try.

I think you're probably right, they made the Pac's with the gun facing left to help display the crane latch initially. Then after so many years, they probably left it that way because that's how they had always done it. Tradition, so to speak. Just guessing.
