Was looking at my pictures, and found a target I shot with my Dan Wesson 714 revolver back in February 2012.
Figured I would share it with the forum.
This was taken while shooting 38 Special in double action mode, at one of my rare trips to a public range. I took a few head shots as well just for fun.
Maybe not my best target, but it looked like I was doing better than the guy to the left of me.
Fired one full cylinder of of 357 Magnum in single action, to use up what I keep in the speed loader.
(Those hits are covered by the black target dots)
My Dan Wesson had a 6 inch 715 barrel & shroud assembly installed that day, instead of the 4 inch B/A that I usually prefer.
Also was using an EWK model 14 conversion front sight blade, so the sight plane would line up correctly with my fixed rear sight model 714, with a 715 shroud installed.

The target was about halfway down the range. Could be 20 or 25 feet, I don't really remember for sure. I'm not as good with distances indoors, as I am with my own 50 yard measured range on my property.

Nice shooting. Good looking 714 too! Do you recall the target distance?

It seems the jump to the forcing cone for a 38 special may have affected accuracy compared to the tight group of 357. Hmmm
Charger Fan, I'm pretty bad at measuring distances indoors. That target was about halfway down the range. Maybe 20-25 yards? I know the close line is 15 yards and I was a ways past that.
I have a silhouette gong at home, set up 50 yards from my porch. I'll often put up a paper target at the halfway point, (25 yards) or just ring the gong from the porch when feeling lazy.
I recently added two AR-500 swinging plate targets, but I don't have a good picture of them in action yet.
Ole Dog, I think the poorer accuracy in 38 Special was due to me shooting 38's in double action mode, and about as quickly I could re-acquire a decent sight picture without getting yelled at. I fired those six 357 Magnum rounds in single action, and I took my time with each shot.
38 Special (deep seated) full wad cutter loads are often some of my most accurate 38 loads, and yet they have the farthest distance to travel from the cylinder throat to the forcing cone.
One of the many mysteries of reloading I guess. You never know just what's going to work well for you, until you try it and see.
Here's a few more cast bullets that I've tried in the 38 Special.
All these different points of impact can make a person wish for a 715 with an adjustable rear sight.
Oh, and can't forget the cute Lee 105grain semi wad cutter. (Lee 358-105-SWC)
I don't really get all that much trigger time with the 6 inch barrel/shroud combo on the gun. It normally just rests in the gun safe.
My 4 inch EWK Arms barrel tube is by far my most accurate barrel, and it's also my favorite all around length for just about everything.
That 4 inch B/A is actually surprisingly accurate with most 38 Special factory or hand loads, despite the longer jump vs 357 Magnum.
You would think my longer barrel assembly would be even more accurate, but I shoot my 8 inch 357 Dan Wesson barrel the worst. My 8 inch DW barrel is rougher both inside and out, than any of my other DW barrels. Maybe it was a made on Friday at 5:00pm quality control thing at Dan Wesson. Every once in a while something not so great manages to slip by QC.
Since my 8 inch B/A does not have any option for a front sight blade, I only use it with some kind of optic mounted, like a Red Dot.
I don't shoot very tight groups when using a Red Dot sight - As the not so tightly grouped target below shows all to clearly.
I can usually make smaller groups with a magnified scope, instead of a red dot. But only from a bench, or some other type of sturdy rest that's more solid than me leaning up against the porch.
Anyways, thanks for looking and for the comments everyone.
