This one is on the opposite end of the spectrum from my Norwich "First Issue" 15. I found this at my LGS.
It is the one and only DW revolver I have EVER seen there with the exception of a new production 715. I've been going there for 10 years and worked there part-time for several years. Not once have I ever seen a used DW come through the door. Given that until very recently I saw many, very unusual used "gems" come through including two 1 of 150 Razorbacks for example as well as a S&W 686 CS-1 3" and countless others.
On this occasion I was just browsing, not seeing much that interested me and spied a short barrel revolver in a holster sitting on the counter. I asked if I could see it and the clerk told me it has "just come in" on trade. They had not even had time to log it, tag it and price it. What I suspected was true, it was a DW. What was even more welcome was the condition of the gun. Being in the holster, I expected finish damage, I've seen it before. There was only a very light, almost non-existent turn line on the cylinder. I expect it was shot very little. The finish is all but immaculate. I told him then and there, I wanted the gun if it was not spoken for.
The price was very reasonable. I would have paid more.

Sweeeeet!!! On of the later high gloss 14's. I think you rescued it from that holster just in time. A little Flitz rubbed lightly on those few spots might eliminate them. FWIW,those round butt conceal grips are highly sought after. I would make that a lightly used nightstand gun if not a safe queen. Of course every room with a outside door or a bed or sink should have a dan stashed. Aw, just kidding about the sink.

Thanks for the compliments on the 14-2. I didn't realize there was a "high gloss" variation. Also, I believe the spots you mention are just from Rem Oil and clean right up with a cloth. I oiled it before I took the pictures.
Speaking of stashing. I recall and account by Masad Ayoob of a jewelry store robbery, I believe in Chicago, where the owner stashed multiple revolvers around the store and a shotgun in the back office. Two perpetrators came in, armed, and they had a run and gun around the store with him grabbing revolvers as he went. The perpetrators came out on the worse end of that deal. Apparently he had been robbed before. The revolvers however were not Dan Wessons.
