I bought this used on Gunbroker. The seller didn't have any feedback and the pictures were a bit blurry, but I wanted a 2.5". The fact that it was a First Issue intrigued me, so I paid more than I would have otherwise. Although not that much had the condition of the gun been more what I expected. I rushed in where angels fear to tread and I knew better, but quelled my reservations. The gun has been shot a good bit it seems. There is a well defined line on the cylinder. Although it does not appear to have been abused. The front sight was also broken, but I knew that before I bought it.
When the gun arrived, the condition was disappointing, although the seller really hadn't made any particular claims. What was more disappointing, the gun had functional issues which I posted about elsewhere. Shooting .357 magnum, the cylinder latch would jar loose after two rounds. I tried replacing the spring to no effect. So, I bit the bullet, as it were, and sent it to DW.
To my great surprise, they fixed the gun under warranty. The deciding question seemed to be "Does it actually say "Norwich" on it"? That is what the gunsmith asked. DW paid both ways, replaced the latch, shimmed it, replaced all the springs and sent it back. The next range trip proved they had fixed the problem. The gun is 100%. I do have a soft place in my heart for abused guns. This one needed a good home where it would be appreciated.
