Were DWs test fired? I have some that have NO marks on recoil shield or powder residue or turn line. I also have verified known NIB that have a lite mark on recoil shield and fine turn line. Some have plastic protector , some don't. Often on GB factory fired really means. " not shot very much" ?????? Hugelk

I am confident they were but I can't swear to it. Some later DWs came with the fired casing that some of the less friendly states require. Also I once talked to a guy who "claimed" to work at Monson for many years and his job was QC to include test firing super mags. Wish I could run across him again to try and nail down some details. All of this is just the ramblings of a guy who likes all things DW with no real proof of my theories.

I can answer for Monson and Palmer. The answer is absolutely every gun was test fired 6 rounds. For over seas, each gun was test fired 3 standard loads and 3 "proof" loads every other chamber to make sure there were no issues. Most guns over seas went to a proof house which required it. In most all cases "RMA" return for repair guns were sent back with the 6 shot group target for approval.
Best regards
