When I first bought this gun, it was a great deal. Nickel 14-2 4" barrel for $239.
Today it got even better, with the addition of an LB Gripper in Dark Zebra.
So why does it "Pay to Play"?
Because the grip was the prize for winning the last postal Match that we shot. I won because I was the ONLY person to enter. I valiantly resisted accepting the prize for this, Lawrence and I went back and forth over several months. Finally it came down to "I know your address, you're getting a grip. You pick one or I will."
So I picked the perfect grip for this gun, it cost me a $10 entry fee, half a dozen targets, and about 100 rounds of .22lr.
Still a pretty good deal, I think.
And yes, that reflection of the fat, bald guy under the cylinder is indeed me.
Finally, LB, thanks for the grip, it's exactly right for this gun.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

No, it involves us shooting a "virtual match", where everyone shoots at the same target (printed off DWF) under the same rules, on the Honor System. Send in your best target along with a $10 entry fee, and the winner gets the prize. All the proceeds go toward Site Operating costs. On this one, LB donated a grip of choice to the winner. I think he and I were the winners on the first one, we each got a DWF T-shirt.
Unfortunately, everyone was too busy to punch some holes on the last Match, and I think it was probably actually the LAST Match.

I bought it that way, but have no idea if it's factory nickel or not. On the one I had done I specifically wanted the hammer/trigger left blue. The factory nickel guns seem to have been all nickel. The bright shine comes on high polished parts, parts that are left a little rough end up as a matte finish.

Here's the info on the matches we have run in the past:
https://www.danwessonforum.com/?page_id=3/monthly-matches/
I'd like to think we might do one this spring or summer, maybe when it's easier for people to get out and shoot. It's easy for me, I am a member at a local (about a mile away) club with a 25 yard indoor range, .22lr only. Old, cold, dirt floor firewood stacked along both sidewalls to soak up errant rounds. Only $80 a year, and Members get a key to come and go as they like.
I shoot a LOT of .22 lr

Sadly, that would be me included. I still feel bad about that, you guys.
Judging from past interest, then participation, I think maybe just a 6-month match should be held for a while. Maybe with a looong buildup, then…BANG!
But to the subject at hand…WOW, that is one really GOOD lookin' LB grip you got there Steve! With the great looking grain of that wood, there's no way anyone will ever find it's twin…no matter how long the search.
Oh & on the reflection quip…I don't know which has more shine, the gun or the owner's forehead! This coming from a Foliccally challenged brother, of course.
