I recently purchased a DW revolver and would to take it apart because when I removed barrel shroud there was a lot of crud, leading me to believe there is the same on the in side, and the trigger is not smooth. Is there printed instructions to show me how to do this, and also is there away to improve the trigger? Thanks for all help in advance.

Stinger has given you a couple of excellent links. Most people, me included, are usually amazed by the results they get with the average Joe Tune Up. One of the great things about Dans is that they are so user friendly to work on.

Karl Lewis designed Dans to rarely need a gunsmith. To change barrel or grips requires a Smith or the factory with other revolver. On a Dan it takes less than 2 minutes. Even removing a screw is a challenge with other guns. On Dans it is a whiz. Even the most mechanically inept can totally disassemble and repair a Dan. You will need a 1/16" roll pin punch for a few things. Remember, never over tighten barrel nuts, grip screw and sideplate screws. Firm is good.

Dan Wesson revolvers are so often "safe queens" that have not been cleaned or SHOT for years. They need the cleaning and lubrication that any safe queen needs, and they benefit enormously from the basic clean up and spring change in the Average Joe Tune Up. Any smoothing, stoning, tuning done just makes it better.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
