IHMSA started offering a new Dan Wesson .22LR specifically made for the ever-growing rimfire silhouette game in 1989. These were only made in 10" barrels, either blue or stainless, and you could choose either the Vent shroud or Vent Heavy shroud. Some had special "ETG22" serial number prefixes, commemorating Elgin T. Gates, the founder of IHMSA. There is also a gold outline ram silhouette at the end of each barrel. The interesting thing about these special revolvers, is that they only operate in the single-action mode...no double action.

I've got a plamer blue in 10V and a Norwich stainless also in 10V, both are single action only and blue Palmer has the gold ram. The Palmer gun is NIB unfired, the Norwich gun has been used and is exceptionally accurate, far more so than me. Neither has an ETG prefix however.

Interesting. I personally know of three in my area, all have the ETG prefix. They were all purchased through the IHMSA Silhouette paper, so perhaps there was a special run of these for the organization.
