In the last month I have been able to pick up a few pieces for my Dans; of course, it happens when I wasn't actively searching for parts but I took them while I could. Managed to pick up originally a 4" shroud with a modified barrel nut and the old style original grip off a fellow in Quebec for $190 shipped. Don't forget, this is Canada and our prices are often higher than South of the border. Also on that note, 4" (104mm) and shorter pistols became prohibited to own 20 years ago up here, though current owners were grandfathered. Therefore, 4" guns are rare to find and 4" Dan Wesson shrouds are even more rare as there are few owners that want to import more prohibited items that will need to be surrendered when they pass. However, I have a few custom 106mm barrels I picked up over the years with only one 4" shroud, so this one makes up the second - and the added barrel length is also the reason for the need of the custom barrel nut.
Fast forward a few weeks, these items arrive and the fellow messages me saying that he found more Dan Wesson parts - another finger groove grip and an unopened B-Square Dan Wesson scope mount - seeing as how I seem to like Dans, was I interested? Even though I am not a big fan of either finger groove grips or scopes on my pistols (but I do have one), I agreed to pay another $100 for those parts. For not really having access to sites like Gunbroker, I think it's cool I found these parts from a fellow that is on the other side of the country - and all while I wasn't actively searching for these items.
I couldn't find any info on the B-Square scope mount in my searches. Does anyone have information about if it works well and is it a decent mount?
Cheers

The B Square is (one of) the best systems for DWs. The cost of that alone was worth your CAD! Consider the grips lagniappe.
Interesting, so the B-Square is worth $290 CAD? The fellow was grumbling about the second package costing $25 to ship after agreeing to $100 shipped. Perhaps I should send him that $25. 🙂
I was just happy to find a 4" shroud for $150, they are so rare up here.

No, I was saying it was worth the $100- when a DW mount goes up on ebay, they almost always go for more than $100 USD. Overall, with both packages you bought, you're ahead of the actual value.
Thanks again. If only a large frame grip would show up - then I'd be truly surprised. 😉
