This is my first Dan Wesson I picked it up at the used counter in a local gun shop in 1999. I was always intrigued with the interchangeable barrel concept and I'm very glad I picked it up. The Dan Wesson is a great shooting gun when it gets exercised. The gun as received and probably left the factory with was the Combat power wood grip. Due to the January 1976 guns and ammo Dan Wesson Article I have. I was on the look out for a early target grip. Finally found one recently needs a bit of restoration but was glad I found one that wasn't totally beat. I prefer the target grips when I shoot. Its interesting how much smaller the early targets are compared to the later. The later DWA grips are my shooter grips that I have installed.

There is a LOT going on there! One suggestion, in case you don't already know this, just NEVER use that two piece barrel tool, very easy to slip and damage or strip the notches on the barrel nut.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks for the reply's definitely will never use the original wrench. I picked up the EWk wrench a few years back as I was getting worried about the outside of barrel and the inside of the shroud as It appeared its never had been apart. No damage found and gave it a good oiling. John ps glad you guys liked the wifes table cloth. lol
IMHO, the 2 piece tools are okay in a pinch if you don't try to over tighten. My favorite is the one piece steel DW tool. Again, don't over tighten the Allen screws.
I am somewhat of a grip hoarder. 5 grips for every frame is just one or two short. A Pachmyer Presentation and or a Gripper are good for hot days. The Zebra is for Sunday church. The combat Powerwood is a rare bird. I would save that for your grandchildren. Plastic will be collectable in about 50 years. Lol. I keep messaging eBay sellers that they are NOT walnut grips. And they are lightly regarded. You would think they would be more appreciative of my advice.
