Now I have another question: Where might I find a front sight for the 14? I looked at EWK and they have it, but mine is pinned and theirs does not appear to have a hole for a pin. I have not taken it off, so am I looking at this wrong and the EWK will work, or do I need a sight specific to my piece?
The sight is functional, but I want it to look right. Sorry about the photo quality. My phone is junk. Any help appreciated!
Welcome reb, nice 14-2. Fixed sight guns often don' shoot to point ao aim. It looks like a previous owner ground down the sight to where it works good. I would'nt mess with it. EWK has sights that will work with a 15-2 shroud on a 14-2 gun.It could have been someones service revolver and rhey didn't want the sight to get caught on a holster. It would have been easier to put nail polish on the front sight .

Thanks for the reply!
It's not ground down, it's broken off in the back and cracked badly in front (that's what that black line about a quarter of the way back from the muzzle is). The hole it sits in is exposed at the rear. In the example pic below, the little tail at the narrow end is snapped off and the thick end is cracked from the botttom up almost through.
I borrowed this image from EDK, no infringement intended! I promise I'll buy one from them if I can make it work!
