Congratulations. Be careful to not let the cylinder close while ejecting cases or the rachet will scratch the sideplate. Tilt the gun to the left and keep your fore and middle fingers through the frame pushing against the cylinder. What size barrel assemblies are you wanting first. Have you heard of DWAS? I believe you are already. Infected. 😆

This is probably one the best things that I was told when I first introduced myself. Thankfully I did just as was suggested or I would have a big scratch on my side plate. It's awkward at first, but once you do it a few times it becomes second nature.
Yes as Ole Dog said I think DWAS has set in for you already as it did for me. I had't even shot mine yet and I purchased a 6" barrel and shroud.

DWAS = Dan Wesson Acquisition Syndrome.
Yes, the 2.5s were produced in 4 styles: Standard = Non Vented & regular underlug; Heavy = Non Vented and heavy underlug; Vented = Vented and regular underlug; Vent Heavy = Vented and heavy underlug.
The 2.5s can be sneaky because the only real difference between the regular and heavy underlug is a very short upsweep of the underlug between the end of the ejector rod slot and the end of the shroud. The heavy underlug does not have this upsweep.
I don't have any pics or I would post for you to see. Maybe someone else will do so. If not I will take some & post.

Here's a Standard (non vent, non heavy)

Took my 15-2 out to the range for the first time today. Shot 38 special 158 grain lead flat nose at 25 feet. The indoor range I use is small and not very well lit. Was impressed with how little recoil I felt with the 38 loads. I shot my new Glock 43 right before the DW, and it kicked considerably more. I used a pistol rest while I shot two cylinders worth, and as you can see in the picture, 6 of them made one hole. It is shooting high to the left, but I didn't bring my Allen wrench with me to make an adjustment. I will next time.

Yes, nice group. We expect that though. I just got a Glock 43. It is nice but not like a Dan in accuracy. It may be more me and my eyes. My wife's Glock 42 is amazingly accurate though. You should consider the 8" too. I think the extra sight radius helps the accuracy. But my eyes need all the help I can get.

I know what you mean about the eyes. Mine are the same way. I really enjoyed shooting the DW, so much so that I think I'll take out my S&W Model 27 and give it a try, and maybe, maybe my Python. Have not shot either of them since acquiring them.
I was happy with the G43 and its accuracy. I had put Truglo TFO sights on it, and a 3.5 lb connector. The tritium fiber optic sights are really easy to see, but I must say I took off the 3.5 lb connector and put the factory connector back on. The trigger was just too light for a concealed carry gun.
Yup, I think I need tritium sights. I too bought a Python but I shot mine right away. I used 38 Special and great care. It was not NIB but almost. If I ever needed a revolver for Zombie protection I think it would be the Python. The double action is as smooth as soft butter. I was as accurate in DA as SA. For SA though, my favorite is a model 14 or 15 porkchop with Wolff Springs.
