At the gun store a few weeks ago, they had a 1953 Smith & Wesson Combat Masterpiece, and a beautiful Dan Wesson Model 15 in the case. I couldn't choose between them, so I got the Combat Masterpiece and put the Dan Wesson on layaway. It was rescued a couple of days ago.
I thought y'all might like to see the pictures. Any flaws are the result of my poor photography skills and not the gun.
I've owned a couple of Dan Wesson 22's in the past, but this is my first centerfire. I don't know much about them. This one was tagged as a Model 15, but I suspect it's actually a 15-2V, because of the ventilated rib.
I doubt I'll shoot it, for no other reason than that I've got other guns to shoot, when I head to the range, which isn't as often these days as I might like.

Well...not to sound like a smart axx, but mostly because I don't want to. I've probably got a half dozen or so guns I've never shot and probably won't. They're just nice examples of guns I've always wanted.
I don't get all of my pleasure in owning a gun, from shooting it.

Cajun, like you I have a very nice DW put back in the safe, probably had less than 50 rounds
through it. I got the box, gauges, papers with it. All that said I've got a 357 that we shoot.
They are great shooters. If you run on to a shooter grade gun buy it. Shoot it and it will
probably become a favorite of yours. Very sharpe gun. HDHIC aka Cliff
Ditto about getting a shooter. Learn on a shooter instead of your safe queen. Dans are thinking man's guns. Before you scratch up a sideplate or the cylinder face from too small a barrel gap. They are not the point and shoot guns that Smiths are. No offense meant to Smith aficionados.
Sorry fellows. I doubt I'll ever shoot it.
But I don't understand why some people seem to be so determined to get someone else to shoot a gun they say they're not going to shoot. What's with that? It's not like I'm telling you not to shoot yours.
Sorry, I don't mean to come across as rude or angry or anything. If I did, I apologize.

I wouldn't begin to attempt describing someone else's motivation...but I can always take a guess!
No one really gives a hoot if you shoot it or not. But, it's like someone who drives a high performance car...what's the point if if you never step on the gas? You can park it in the garage and look at it...or you can enjoy putting it to the test.
It's your call...you're absolutely right.
