It’s been 14 years since I sold my last Dan Wesson (15-2) here in the classifieds.
So, lately I convinced myself that I “needed” a 6” new Colt Python. I went to my local gun store and handled one. I had one many years ago and this one wasn’t ringing any bells. Especially at $1500. I read up on it’s shortcomings and at the very least new sights were in order driving the price higher.
Then I noticed the used guns. A stainless DW 44mag with an 8” barrel, and a 715 also with an 8” hv barrel. Both on consignment. As I was handling the 715 the salesman mentioned it comes with an another barrel too. I asked to see it and out comes the original box, 2 more grips and the factory tool. The extra barrel is a 4” hv later production. The 715 is a Monson gun. Better than a new Python(?) And only 2/3’s the price.
