The parts fit because it IS really a Dan Wesson. DW made them and HS roll marked them HS because they wanted to expand their lineup. Karl Lewis worked for HS before he collaborated with DW. I suspect DW sold the remaining inventory of porkchops to HS because by 1974 the 15-2 was in production and DW didn't want to compete with itself. Just guessing. HS cataloged barrel assemblies but none were ever sold. Of course, DW BAs are the same. When the unofficial 15-1 was introduced in 1973 the huge rear sight of the prior model was replaced by a High Standard rear sight. Being lower than the Model 12 rear sight, the non interchangable pork chop front sight of guns before the 15-1 will not shoot to point of aim. Something to keep in mind when buying pock chop BAs on eBay. Same thing goes for fixed sight models. The earlier models have a higher front sight than the Model 14-1 /HS mk II.
