Anybody like a Patridge front sight on a 4VH barrel? I bought a CZ 2.5"VH that came with the Patridge and I my aging eyes can pick it up faster than the ramp sight. My eyesight isn't so good anymore and I put a little fluorescent hobby paint on it topped with clear nail polish to seal it. I bought another Patridge sight and put it on a CZ 4VH to try. Anyone like the Patridge vs ramp front sight?

I’m also fond of having a white outline on the rear sight. It really helps to get on target quickly. I cut mine from the unused edges of address labels; then carefully apply. Takes a few tries sometimes, but the result is worth the effort. This one was the smallest I’ve ever tried. It’s a Colt Official Police from 1939.

Hmm I’ve never given that any thought, I’ll have to try that sometime!
3ric: you’re using thin strips of labels? My guess is you have to be very careful about spraying oil and wiping the pistol down to prevent removing/wiping them off? Or are they pretty hearty? Just curious. Your pic definitely shows the advantage of using them!

I “secretly” borrow my wife’s nifty craft scissors which are razor sharp right to the tip. Very carefully cut the outline, then peel the backing off and stick it on there. I’m not into spraying down a revolver when cleaning, so mine hold up for a long time (years), but they will definitely not hold up to using a lot of cleaner. No need to IMHO. This photo shows just how tiny the one on my Colt is compared to my DW 15-2. Definitely takes a steady hand, good lighting and a lot of patience.

Yes! I do like the patridge sight, but it needs to be the correct thickness to align properly with the rear sight. I eventually had to go back to the original ramp front sight on this one to achieve the right amount of “daylight” on each side.
Thanks for the tip. I was lucky as the two 15-2s with the Patridge front sight align well with the rear as far as width is concerned.
