Second barrel down in top picture - the one with the DW signature and different looking sight - what's the story on that one?

Indeed, the 'Gold Series' - normally, the letters are painted in with gold paint, during the years this has gone. Also the trigger is gold, and I guess it's gold plated because there the 'paint' is still there.

On any gun with gold inlay or nickel plating, one should never use any copper solvents on the finish as it can get under the top layer to the base metals, many times copper or brass, and cause the top plate to lift.  That maybe what happened to your Gold Series.  A little gold leaf can restore that to new condition if you so desire.

Probably yes ... but as you can see, also at the blue finish, there is some pitting here and there. Not only on the barrels but also at the gun itself. So if I let restore it, also the blue finish has to be restored first.

When I bought the gun it was much worse but after cleaning and cleaning it went less. The previous owner has this gun at a very moisture place for years and never shoot it during that period. After years he stopped shooting and I bought together with a mate all three of his weapons, the Dan, a M1 Carbine and a Ruger .30 Carbine Single action revolver. The Dan is the only one I still own, the other weapons are sold already and this gun will be used by myself almost each week.

Love the fabric on your case...redo it your self keeping it

wild as it is! Some fancy gun slingers in Hollywood movies over the years had crazy suite vests with patterns such as paisley. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, that gold series is cool.  But to me what is really "cool" (even though I'm not familiar with the reason behind the logic) is the completely different thought process behind the design of the front sight compared to standard BA's.

Eric Wesson said the Gold Series were popular in Germany/Europe. The rear sight has a triangle in the center and the polish is the finest I have seen on any Dan Wesson. My Gold Series does not have a Gold plated trigger or hammer but the blue is highly polished like the rest of the gun.
