I hope this is the correct place to post this. As some of you know and some may not I am the new owner of a DW 14-2. It is my first DW and will not be my last DWAS!
My 14-2 came with a 4" barrel and I was wanting a 6". So searching online I found an actual 14-2 6" barrel most I see are 15-2 barrels. Anyway this barrel is basically NOS. Gentleman bought in 1980 and never used and still in box. I received it yesterday evening and thought I'd post pics. Can not wait to get this on and see what it look like.....now to just get a wrench. HAHAHA I may have done this all backwards, but timing on the barrel and shroud wouldn't let me.

Yep, already thinking looking at other barrels and shrouds. HAHAHA
For your comment on grips for each length......the thought crossed my mind if there are different ones for the different lengths. Is there a post or somewhere that has the suggested grips for the lengths? I haven't been able to find one if there is.
I am sure there is a lot under reloading, Gunsmithing and grips. In the beginning there was 4 grips. Target, Michigan, Sacramento and, I think, conceal. The Sacramento was the first finger groove model. Later, the standards were Smooth and Checkered targets in Walnut, birch and zebra. Also the finger groove "combat" and the round and flat conceal grips. Many folks made after market grips and anyone could customize a factory grip to fit their hand. The fact that there was no frame allowed wide latitude of shape. LB, of LB Custom Grips on the forum makes fabulous grips for not a lot of money. There is a link on the bottom of the home page. EBay always has grips. Don't rush, study them for a while. Gunbroker also has many grips for sale. Besides LB's grips, the gold standard is the Zebra Wood grips. The smooth Zebras seem to go for more money. Eagle grips made some beautiful Rosewood grips back in the day. I am just scratching the surface. Hope this helped.

Yep, ordered a wrench and gauge set from EWK and switched out the barrel. Read and read then watched a few videos to make sure I didn't mess anything up. One thing I was concerned with was the gap between cylinder and barrel. Really loving these guns and all the info on the forum.
