I ran across this one recently.  I figured someone here would know about this.  I've never seen a 15" barrel before.  Are these rare or special?

The 15"  would have been an order item! They are somewhat rare and you see more in blue than in SS.  the  S would be Stainless  i think.  The pac shown would be a  715 with an addtional 15" V.  Is this one yours?   Where is it and is it for sale?    Oh  and Welcome to this place look around alot of info and great folks here!

PM me if this or the 15" on the market.

Any barrel over 10" is harder to come by and pricey when you do...

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

That's a great looking Pac. Did you buy it, or just spot it?

It's mine as of yesterday.

Sort of an interesting story; The former owner listed it on a local forum as "for trade"  and I contacted him.  Turned out he wanted an AR type rifle.

I've not succumbed to the 'black rifle' disease and didn't have one to trade.  So I went and bought him (a new) one and made the trade.

I'm happy and he's happy.

This is probably (another) one of those the kids will have to decide what to do with after I'm gone.

Wow, what a great idea to make a trade work. I'll have to remember that one. You definitely made out on that trade for sure, maybe even gtdw as I would think that pac is worth 2 AR-15's any day.

And welcome to the dwf-sign.

Depending on how much you spent on the AR, I think you probably did pretty well. A clean 715 Pack should go for $1000 (+?). The 15V BA is the kicker here but $500 is not out of the ballpark. Not sure it's worth 2 AR's, but maybe.

On the other hand, AR's are being built every day, they ain't making any more 715 Packs with an extra 15" BA.

Probably a good deal

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I spotted a 15" blued 44 barrel in Wisconsin for $600 to 700.  I would think the stainless 357 would be the same or more.

I am confused Mox,  are you sure it was a 44?   Didn't think Dan made over a 10" in the large frame!!  reguardless this pac was a score with ars going for 500 to 900 most places, depending on the brand.  I would have pulled the DPMS out  and waved goodbye!!

I was at Gus's in Green Bay looking at his only DWs in the store and they were 44 mag.  He has one BA in a cloth on the counter which was a 44.  Then he says, I have a 15 inch BA at home, he continues to say, "I would have to look it up, but it would go for around $600 or $700 or so" and I was assuming it was also a 44 mag since that is all we were talking about.  Now if there was no 44 mag 15 inch BAs made then it must have been something else.  But why would DW not make a 15 inch 44 BA, especially when Winchester and Marlin are making rifles in 44 mag???  Of course that is a hypothetical question and doesn't require an answer.
