I had to run up to Cabela's to buy some .22WMR ammo and, as usual, I stopped by the used gun counter. On the bottom shelf, calling out my name, was a Dan Wesson, Monson factory, 15-2V that looked unfired & still had factory grease in the barrel. They were asking $599 for it, as soon as I asked about a discount, they knocked $75 off & I was sold.
Almost forgot: it had the original box, paperwork & tools:

Hello, I just joined today because I've been looking for a while for some info, worth of a gun I got from my grandpa. Im not really a collector and the personal value the rifles i got from him far exceeds the handgun. It's a 22 win mag. Monson ma. After researching a little, I guess it's technically a 722 mag since it's stainless. Any info would be great! I've had fun researching all these threads. Thanks.
Also I never saw where to start a new thread.

How about "New Members"?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

GREAT Deal on a 1977 15-2 4V. The bluing looks factory fresh. If I had seen that at my local Cabela's, I would have bought it and dealt with the consequences later (" you bought ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE???)

Yep, I'm bruised & battered and sleeping out in the doggloo tonight but it was worth it!

absolutely amazing pickup. thanks for sharing the extra detail over here.
As I said on the CZ forums, literally one of the best looking 15-2's i've seen. 🙂
I've got the pach's on one of my 15-2's as well -- personally I'm a bigger fan of the wood grips and plan on upgrading mine to something like the LB Customs unless I can find a set of originals at a reasonable price point.

I've been looking for a 15-2 for several months but hadn't seen "the one" that looked good and was at the right price. I looked at a lot of listings on gunbroker but couldn't bring myself to buy one without actually laying eyes on it and handling it. Just happened to be in the right place at the right time for this one.
This DW came with the wood grips you see in the pics and I had purchased the Pach's to possibly go on my 715. I think they actually look better than the grips that came with this gun. They're just to bulky and almost look like someone smoothed out a small tree limb & cut holes in for a Dan Wesson. I would like to get more traditional wood grips with the DW logo but, as you said, those are usually overpriced. I'll probably eventually change out the Pach's with something nice but they'll do just fine for now.
I want a short barrel more than grips so I'll probably get that first.

Nice find. 3 years ago when I was walking through Gander Mountain I looked and saw a revolver in the used gun case.. I looked closer seeing the side lock and was like is that a Dan Wesson?? asked to see it..yup a 6" 15-2. then I looked at the price tag. $225 I looked again and as im looking the counter guy says..we have it priced at $225 because it may need some work.. the Cylinder is tight and binding the barrel some... Having a 15-2 4" that id bought 1.5 years before this find I knew what the issue was..I popped open the cylinder to make sure there wasnt any kind of forcing cone damge/cracks or anything wrong...nope...I knew that someone just didnt have a clue on how to gap the barrel/// took it home for $225 cleaned it up..re-gapped it with my EWK feeler gauge and its now 100% . Best $225 i ever spent lol. Now that I have the 6" im thinking of selling the 4" to fund other projects.
