I just acquired an almost brand new 15-2 origional Pistol Pack. Got it from a friend of a friend who inherited it. Looks to have been a safe queen. The guy I got it from shot about three cylinders full thru the 8' bbl and thats it. Eveything is there, the case, all four BAs, spare grips, two old style barrel tools, gap gage, spare sight blades in the origional envelope, the warrenty card, instruction book, belt buckel, patch and the color sales brochure. Even has the origional purchase receipt from 1979! Condition is AS NEW in my opinion. There are no marks or scratches on this gun at all. He was going to put it on GB but didn't want the hassel and then found out I like DWs so he offerd it to me for a very fair price. kicked in and I had to save this beauty from a pack breaking.
I'll shut up now and post some .BTW origional price in 1979 was just over $300!

Awesome pac, that does look mint! Are the barrels non-vented? I know non-vented ones show up more rarely. And with all the goodies and keys and everything!
You may want to enter the info into the serial # registry, since you have the dated sales receipt and all.
I can't stop looking at the pics, what a nice pac, even the outside of the case looks new!

All the BAs are nonvented standard underlug. Were the VH BAs most popular? I'm super happy with this pack! Its like it came thru a time warp, its a brand new 33 year old gun. There is absolutely no turn ring on the cylinder. I doubt if its had a full box of ammo run thru it in its entire life. The guy I got it from didn't think his relative had ever fired it. Fortunately for me, the seller is not into revolvers so he didn't mind parting with it. He did say he was glad a collector was getting it since it would remain intact. I don't think I'm going to shoot this one, its just too nice. I have another 15-2 pack that is a shooter so this one is going to be more of a showpiece for me. The case is perfect, no scratches either. The origional owner must have kept it in a padded safe from day one.
Interestingly, the sales receipt is from a now out of business local gun shop that most of my early long guns came from when I was a youngster.
A little more backstory here, this whole deal was as much an accident as anything. My friend was going to a local gun show a few weeks ago and asked if I was looking for anything. I said keep an eye open for DW stuff, he said like what, and I said anything. Then he said the knew a guy at work with a pistol pack he'd like to sell and said he'd have the guy call, which he did the next week and bang here it is.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I posted the serial number in the serial number registry. I'll put it here too: It was sold brand new on April 2, 1979, serial number 12894xx. From looking at the serail number list, I almost think this gun was manufactured in 1978 and stayed in stock at the sporting goods store for awhile.
Growing up I always read magazines and reading about guys finding old Porches and such in barns in great shape and thinking 'I wonder how that would be to find something old and in good shape' well, now I know, it feels COOL!

This gun has the white outlined rear sights. Saw the debate running in another thread, just thought I'd throw this tid bit out there.
I was just looking at the sales brochure that came with this gun. It states that white outlined rear sights are standard for this gun. That tells me that in the late 70s white outlined sights were standard and that sometime after this is when the plain rear sights became standard. So I guess we can put that in our timeline construction. It also states that the model 8-2 is the same as the model 14-2 except that it is 38 Special only and the model 9-2 is the same as the model 15-2 except for being 38 Special only. It states that they are 'identical in appearance and price'.
